In reading Arthur Boers book, Living into Focus, I found many powerful reminders about the importance of paying attention to how we use technology. I found the paragraph below particularly striking:

~ When I interviewed Albert Borgmann in his university office, I was surprised not to see a computer. I kept looking and wondered how a professor could get on without one. I knew that my employer would not give me such an option. Finally, I spoke up, "You don't have a computer here in your office." He laughed and opened a desk drawer. "I have it here. I call this putting technology in it's place." (Boers, 199)
